Red Hook rallies to edge Kingston

RED HOOK — Red Hook High’s Alex Franceschi scored her first varsity goal and the Raiders got by Kingston 2-1 in a non-league girls soccer match on Monday.

Franceschi tallied in the 50th minute with the game-winner, headed in on a corner kick from Shannon Berg.

Isabelle LaBarbera scored the other goal for Red Hook (7-0-1) just two minutes into the second period.

Kingston (3-5-1) got its only goal from Maegan Neilson in the eighth minute.

Red Hook keeper Ashley Pica collected four saves, while Kingston’s Kayley Jansen stopped six shots. Wallkill 0 At Wallkill, Celina Carrero scored two goals in the win for the Goldbacks (7-3).

Daija Bullard and Sara Collotti both added a goal and an assist for Newburgh, which got four saves from keeper Alexis DeSantis.

Ashlie Devens made 15 saves in a losing effort for Wallkill (1-6-1).

MHAL Rhinebeck 2 Pine Plains 1 At Pine Plains, Christina Cummings and Rebecca Gausephol each had first-half goals in the Hawks win.

Keeper Natalie Blakey had 13 saves in the win for Rhinebeck.
