Red Hook rallies to edge Kingston

RED HOOK — Red Hook High’s Alex Franceschi scored her first varsity goal and the Raiders got by Kingston 2-1 in a non-league girls soccer match on Monday.

Franceschi tallied in the 50th minute with the game-winner, headed in on a corner kick from Shannon Berg.

Isabelle LaBarbera scored the other goal for Red Hook (7-0-1) just two minutes into the second period.

Kingston (3-5-1) got its only goal from Maegan Neilson in the eighth minute.

Red Hook keeper Ashley Pica collected four saves, while Kingston’s Kayley Jansen stopped six shots. Daija Bullard and Sara Collotti both added a goal and an assist for Newburgh, which got four saves from keeper Alexis DeSantis.

Ashlie Devens made 15 saves in a losing effort for Wallkill (1-6-1).

MHAL Rhinebeck 2 Pine Plains 1 At Pine Plains, Christina Cummings and Rebecca Gausephol each had first-half goals in the Hawks win.

Keeper Natalie Blakey had 13 saves in the win for Rhinebeck.
