City of Kingston
• Assault: Ronald S. Drolet, 38, of Lake Katrine, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus in Kingston, and was charged with felony assault and possession of a weapon, obstruction of breathing and menacing, all misdemeanors. The arrest followed a report from the hospital of an assault victim at that location. An investigation found that Drolet had struck a woman with a wrench and obstructed her breathing. Drolet was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000bail. The condition of the victim, who was not identified, was unavailable.
Cairo
• DWI: Daniel Demeter, 39, of Cairo, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 5:25p.m. Thursday on Old Lakes Mills Road in Cairo and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both misdemeanors, and with leaving the scene of property damage accident, an infraction. Demeter was released with tickets for Cairo Town Court.
Durham
• Criminal Contempt/harassment by phone: Krista L. Verga, 22, of Athens, was arrested by state police at Greenville at 12:41p.m. Thursday in Durham and was charged with felony contempt by telephone and the misdemeanor of aggravated harassment by phone. Verga was released with tickets for Durham Town Court.
Ellenville
• Drugs: Jorge H. Vega, 44, of Brodhead Street, Ellenville, was arrested by Ellenville police and members of the Ulster County Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team at noon Wednesday on Berme Road in Wawarsing and was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance (heroin) and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both felonies, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Vega was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000bail.
Marlborough
• Drugs: Troy J. Smith, 20, and Frank P. Pratt, 25, both of Gardiner, were arrested by state police at Highland at 5:36p.m. Thursday on U.S. 9W in Marlborough. Smith was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Pratt was charged with possession of more than 25grams of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Smith and Pratt were released with court appearance tickets.
Plattekill
• Endangering/criminal mischief: Angela C. Sindone, 31, of Plattekill, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at 5:35a.m. Tuesday in Plattekill and was charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and with harassment, a violation. Deputies responding to a reported domestic dispute found that Sindone struck her victim in the face and groin and destroyed the victim’s television, all in the presence of two children. Sindone was released with tickets for Plattekill Town Court.
Town of Rochester
• Failing to register: Timothy J. Langjan, 32, of 14Ferguson Ave., Apt. 5, Port Jervis, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies and Port Jervis police at about 10:18 a.m. Thursday in Port Jervis and was turned over to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office. Langian was charged with failure to register as a sex offender, a felony. Langjan had failed to notify authorities of his change of address within 10days, police said. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail with an appearance ticket for Rochester Town Court.
