SUNY New Paltz defeats Plattsburg­h

Hawks now game back of SUNYAC leaders

The Hawks stand tied for second in the SUNY Athletic Conference after a 5-0 homestand.

NEW PALTZ >> The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team earned a big State University of New York Athletic Conference win over Plattsburg­h 69-55 Saturday.

With the win, New Paltz improves to 10-10 overall, but 8-5 in the SUNYAC. Plattsburg­h falls to 14-6, and 9-4 in SUNYAC play.

R.J. Rosa led the Hawks with 17 points, Taylor Sowah added 13, Andrew Seniuk had 12 and Alex Perlman chipped in 11. Sowah had 10 rebounds to complete a doubledoub­le and Rosa had eight steals.

Shamoy McIntosh led Plattsburg­h with 16 points, while Jordan Moody and Kyle Richardson each had 10 points.
