Rhoda M. Lane, 86, of Kerhonkson

KERHONKSON » Rhoda M. Lane, 86, of Kerhonkson, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in Charleston, S.C.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1929, in the town of Marbletown, daughter of William and Laura (Davis) Christiana.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard, son Ronald Lane, and daughters Valerie Lane and Christine Broekema.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Lane (Nora H.) of Summerville, S.C., and Donald Lane (Nora J.) of Verona, N.Y.; sonin-law, John Broekema of Kerhonkson; grandchildren, Nora Lee (Rob), Dacia (Jerel), Richard (Krista), Michael (Jessica), Matthew, Heather, Jessica and Briana; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Abigail, Karsten, Laszlo, Cooper, Tessa, Parker, Katelynn and Allison; sister, Mary Ellen Bourns of Lily Lake, Fla.; cousin Wendy; and several nieces, nephews and many good friends.

Rhoda was a longtime member of the Kerhonkson Federated Church, the Kerhonkson Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Lions Club of Kerhonkson.

She was a school bus driver for Schwab/ Mulligan Bus Company for many years.

Rhoda was a woman of boundless energy who had many loves and talents. Rhoda enjoyed travel, spending time with her family, having adventures, and crafting beautiful things. Ever curious and social, Rhoda liked reading, puzzles, and games. She was determined, resilient, hardworking and generous. She loved to know what was going on and be a part of it. She fiercely loved and cared for all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. The Rev. Nickolas Miles will officiate.

Interment will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson. Friends may call at the funeral home in Rosendale on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
