Vincent G. Genuario, 90, of Port Ewen, formerly of Hurley, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1925, in Dunmore, Pa., to the late Daniel and Susan ( Yurkanin) Genuario. He was married to his loving wife of 60 years, Katharine (Heldak) Genuario. They wed on Oct. 1, 1955.

Vince served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later graduated from the University of Scranton, where he majored in Economics. Vince was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM in Kingston, where he worked in the purchasing department for many years until his retirement. An avid sports fan, Vince enjoyed golfing and was a longtime member of Wiltwyck Country Club.

After retirement, he loved to travel, especially visiting Naples, Fla., and Palm Springs, Calif., where he golfed and relaxed. He also volunteere­d at People’s Place in Kingston. Vince was a parishione­r of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Kingston.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Karen A. O’Connell and her husband William of Ramsey, N. J., Lisa M. Sturrock and her husband Gerard of Port Ewen; his grandchild­ren, Thomas and Jennifer O’Connell and Eric Sturrock; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predecease­d by his brother, Francis Genuario.

Friends and family may visit on Friday Feb. 12, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, N.Y. Burial will take place in Hurley Cemetery.
