New Paltz sweeps in quadrangul­ar

New Paltz High swept a Mid-Hudson Athletic League girls cross country quadrangul­ar meet.

The Huguenots defeated Marlboro 20-40 and Rondout Valley 1543 and also took a 15-50 decision from Saugerties. Rondout and Marlboro were also 15-50 winners over the Sawyers.

Chloe Hanson of Saugerties won the race in 20:55, beating New Paltz’s Jordan Nagle by five seconds.

At Ellenville, Wallkill downed Rhinebeck 16-41, Highland 17-42 and Ellenville 15-50 in a meet at Lippman Park. Highland edged Rhinebeck 2730 and took a 15-50 win from Ellenville.

At Staatsburg, Red Hook swept a meet at Mills Mansion, downing Webutuck 20-38, Onteora 18-41 and Millbrook 17-42. Webutuck, which was led by Taylor Edmundson’s win in 20:51, slipped by Onteora 26-29 and took a 15-50 win from Millbrook. Onteora was a 19-36 winner over Millbrook.

In a tight race, Red Hook’s Sheena Dwyer-McNulty and Mia Michaelide­s finished one and two seconds behind Edmundson, respective­ly. 1. Taylor Edmundson (W) 20:51; 2. At Dover, Roosevelt dominated a quadrangul­ar meet, defeating Spackenkil­l 21-38 , Dover 17-46 and John A. Coleman 1550.

The Spartans went 2-1 on the day with a 2037 over Dover and 15-50 over Coleman. Dover also won 15-50 over the Statewomen.

Spackenkil­l eighthgrad­er Reece Robinson won the race in 18:57.

Sarah Trainor led Roosevelt in 19:02, followed by Nadia Cathcart (19:13), Taylor Small (19:42), Lindsay Holland (21:09) and Tayah Nathan (21:56).

Rebecca Daley (27:25), Natasha Haskell (35:16) and Anna Larson (35:28.06) led Coleman.

Heaven Swan (20:36) paced Dover.
