Louis Stella, 71, of Accord

Louis Stella of Accord, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old.

Louis was born on Sept. 29, 1945, in the Bronx, N.Y. He was the son of the late Louis and Delia (Arzuaga) Velasquez.

Louis served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Iron Worker and a member of the Mason Tender District Co. in New York City for over 30 years. He was a member of the NRA and proud member of the Ulster County Trapper Association and Wawarsing Rod & Gun Club.

Louis is survived by his loving fiancée, Shania Hitchcock and her daughter Christine Hitchcock. Also surviving are his stepfather, Angel Louis Garcia; his brothers and sisters, Alba Velez (Francisco Bengocha),

Mildred Hernandez, Annie Rosado, Diane Sandi, Dinaly Garcia (Nelson Revron), Angel Louis Garcia (Sonia), Rafeal Garcia (Wanda), and Kevin Garcia (Michelle); and many, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Frances.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, from 3 to 8 p.m. at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. The Panakhyda

will begin at 6 p.m. that evening. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Kerhonkson. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.
