Kingston medals in Manhattan College event

Kingston High had seven runners medal Saturday at the prestigiou­s Manhattan College Invitation­al cross country meet in Van Cortlandt Park.

The Tigers’ boys placed 11th overall with 321 points. The girls were 20th with 492 points.

The top 75 in all races medal.

Robert Becker (13:17.4) and Jayson Hines (13:24.2) placed seventh and 13th, respective­ly, to lead Kingston in the 2.5-mile race. Aidan Lancer also medaled, taking 58th in 14:08.9. Rounding out this contingent were Bailey Burkland-Ryan (112th, 15:02.1), Johnny Loughlin (131st, 15:16.2) and Gio Melchionne (140th, 15:27.6).

Grace Regan (60th, 17:22.1) and Maggie Noe (73rd, 17:35.7) medaled in the girls race. Also competing were Autumn Spyhalsky (101st, 18:40.9), Clara Sensini (102nd, 18:41.3) and Sydney Miller (156th, 22:19.9).

Cindy Jiang (19th, 8:01.7) and Thea Kovaleski (38th, 8:22.0) both medaled for the Tigers in the Freshman race. Kayla Ajiattaz (87th, 10:16.6) also ran in the 1.25mile race.

Competing for Kingston in the 2.5-mile Junior Varsity boys race were Cameron Fairley (77th, 15:44.3), Eddy Zajac (84th, 15:51.5), Matt Krom (161st, 17:23.2) ancd Cole Elmendorf (167th, 17:29.9).

Kingston is at Newburgh Free Academy for an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n meet Thursday, then runs in the Brown Invitation­al in Rhode Island Saturday. Winners & How Local Athletes Fared: BOYS
