Evangeline (Spears) Smith, 86, of Ulster Park

ULSTER PARK >> Evangeline (Spears) Smith, 86, formerly of Ulster Park, passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine.

She was born July 27, 1930, in New York City to the late Jacobus and Birgitte (Pedersen) Spears.

Evangeline worked for many years at NBR Diamond Tool in LaGrange, N.Y. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, and her craft groups. She was a former member of the Ti Yogi Bowman Archery Club in Hyde Park, where she had won several competitions.

She is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Fred) Haalck of Ulster Park, Nadine (Louis) Persico of Clermont, Fla., Michael (Alice) Fabia of North Harwich, Cape Cod, Guy Fabia and his partner Leona of Spokan, Wash., Jayne (Robert) Lamprecht of South Carolina, Christopher Fabia of Mountain Dale, N.Y., as well as several stepchildren and grandchildren from her second marriage. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two sisters, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evangeline was predeceased by her son, Robert C. Fabia; her grandson, Bradley Fabia; her husbands, Robert M. Fabia and Ralph Smith; as well as three brothers and one sister.

Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston. A Celebration of Evangeline’s Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ten Broeck Commons Brink Unit, for their many years of compassionate care they provided to Evangeline.
