City of Kingston
• DWI: Chantelle R. James, 23, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Greenkill Avenue in Kingston and was charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both misdemeanors. James was released with a ticket for Kingston City Court.
Catskill
• DWAI-drugs: Edward B. Hoffman, 36, of Ravena, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 2 p.m. Friday at the New York State Thruway toll plaza at Exit 21 in Catskill and was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Hoffman was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
Lloyd
• Drugs: Brian J. Padusnak, 32, of Accord, was arrested by state police at Highland at 10:40 a.m. Friday at the state police barracks at 212 state Route 299 and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors. Padusnak was released with a ticket for Lloyd Town Court. Further information was unavailable.
• Drugs: John P. Planthaber, 24, of Accord, and Cair W. Berryann, 48, of New Paltz, were arrested by state police at Highland on U.S. Route 9W at 6:34 p.m. Friday. Planthaber was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and aggravated unlicensed driving, all misdemeanors, two counts of having a controlled substance in a nonoriginal container, a violation, and with having no inspection certificate, an infraction. Berryann was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and with possession of marijuana, a violation. Both were released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
• DWI: Robert S. Vitale, 34, of Staten Island, was arrested by state police at Highland at 12:07 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with felony drunken driving and with moving from lane unsafely and refusing a breath test, both infractions. Vitale was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a court appearance.
New Paltz
• Fleeing a police officer: Jerome A. Milton, 20, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Highland at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday at the state police barracks at 212 state Route 299 and was charged with fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and with failing to obey a police officer, illegal parking and speeding. Milton was released with a ticket for New Paltz Court.
• DWI: Richard A. Robinson, 58, of Hyde Park, was arrested by state police at Highland at 1:40 a.m. Saturday on Main Street in the town of New Paltz and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Robinson was released with a ticket for New Paltz Court.
• DWI: Marais A. Asbury, 22, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Highland at 3:51 a.m. Saturday on state Route 299 in Highland and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors, and with an equipment violation (safety glass). Asbury was released with a ticket for New Paltz Court.
Red Hook
• DWI: Jesus Valencia, 31, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 1:02 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 9 in the town of Red Hook and was charged with drunken driving and with driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors, and the infractions of driving without a license and crossing road hazard markings.
Rhinebeck
• DWI: David C. Riker, 38, of Miami, Fla., was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 1:42 a.m. Saturday on state Route 199 at the KingstonRhinecliff Bridge and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Riker was released with a ticket for Rhinebeck Town Court.
Shawangunk
• Drugs: Timothy P. Merli, 27, of Walden, was arrested by state police at Highland at 9:21 p.m. Friday on state Route 300 in Shawangunk and was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and two counts of having a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation. Merli was released with a ticket for Shawangunk Town Court.
Windham
• DWAI-drugs: Courtney S. Nichols, 19, of Roslyn, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 10:19 p.m. Friday on state Route 23 in Windham and was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Nichols was released with a ticket for Windham Town Court.
