The arrests were the result of an early morning police raid at a Main Street bar near the college.

An early morning raid at P&G’s Restaurant and Bar on Main Street in the village ended with the arrest of five underage SUNY New Paltz students who used fake identifications to buy drinks, police said Tuesday.

Paige N. Gladstone, Taylor E. LaFrance and Logan Hornsey, all 19, Jessica M. Fox, 18, and Justin M. Ganca, 20, were arrested about 1:30 a.m. Friday after town police, with assistance from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an alcohol beverage control check at the 91 Main St. bar.

The drinking age in New York is 21.

Uniformed officers entered the bar and “identified patrons who appeared to be under the age of 21 who were consuming alcohol,” according to a press release.

Gladstone and Hornsey were using fake IDs with names other than their own, and each was charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal impersonation, according to New Paltz Police Lt. Rob Lucchesi.

LaFrance, Fox and Ganca presented fake IDs to a bartender, and each was charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a forged instrument, Lucchesi said.

All five students were released with tickets to appear in New Paltz Court.

Lucchesi said the bartenders were not charged.
