Brennie leads Highland to victory over Onteora

Kevin Brennie drove in three runs and Nick Turner two, leading Highland to a 10-4 win over Onteora High. Brennie’s tworun single highlighte­d a threerun second inning that put the Huskies ahead for good.

Kevin Brennie drove in three runs and Nick Turner two, leading Highland to a 10-4 non-league baseball win over Onteora High.

Brennie’s two-run single highlighte­d a three-run second inning that put the Huskies ahead for good. He forced in another run with a bases-loaded walk during a four-run third.

Turner had a pair of RBI singles, Matt Crimi singled, doubled and drove in one run and Mike Malheiro also doubled for Highland.

Tyler Delquarto struck out eight and allowed two runs on one hit over the first four innings to get the win.

At Lake Huntington, Ben Bonitz allowed five hits and no earned runs over 5 2/3 innings for the Devils in their opener.

In his varsity debut, freshman Justin Guillano, meanwhile, went 3 for 4 with a two-run home run, double and three RBI to lead the offense. He also recorded a save, striking out three of four batters he faced in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

Brandon Dailey went 2 for 3 for Sullivan West.
