Kingston rolls to easy OCIAA win

KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Grace Gavis scored four goals and Kendal Parker had three as Kingston High rolled past Valley Central 18-3 in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n girls lacrosse match.

Paige Kowal, Analiese Amato and Makenna Sepesi each scored two goals and had an assist, Cameron Letus had two goals and an assist, while Julianna Sickler, Olivia Prizzi, Rossella Nardi and Lauren Davis each contribute­d a goal for the (4-2) Tigers in the win.

“I continue to be impressed with how different players are stepping up,” said Kingston coach Debbie Eaton, adding that 10 different players where

involved in scoring.

The Tigers dominated in shots on goal, holding a 31-8 edge and also led 3417 on ground balls and 1110 on draw controls.

Kelsey Trainor scored a goal and Makenzie Ross added a goal for the (3-2) Vikings.

Grace Perry had four saves for Kingston, while Maddie Apap had nine stops for Valley Central. Red Hook 17, Highland 12

At Red Hook, Elizabeth Fino scored 10 goals and had an assist, but it wasn’t enough for the Huskies.

Natalie Ryan scored four goals; Erin Hare and Syr Eposito each had three; Bailey Jordan had three goals and two assists; while Mia Michaelide­s, Julia Bemis, Maddie Hackett and Kayla Turgen had a goal each for Red Hook in the win.

Abigail Munson’s two goals rounded out Highland’s attack in the loss.

DeCoursey Gardner had four saves and Mara Halas had a stop in split duty for the (5-1) Raiders. Miranda Bellacicco registered nine saves for the Huskies.
