Bobbie Jo Kershaw Porter, 44, of Ellenville

Bobbie Jo Kershaw Porter of Ellenville, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Northern Dutchess Hospital. She was 44 years old.

Bobbie Jo was born on March 15, 1973, in Kingston, N.Y.; she was the daughter of Wayne Kershaw Sr. and Sharon (Quick) Kinch.

Bobbie Jo was fondly referred to as “Serg” by her family because she kept everyone on the straight and narrow. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie Jo is survived by her husband, Edward Porter Jr., whom she married on June 14, 2013; stepfather, Raymond Kinch Sr.; maternal grandmother, Janet Quick; children, Tiffine (Candace), Jennifer (Peter), Starr, Grace, Rachel and Kelly; brothers, Wayne Jr., Thomas, Christopher (Heather), and Raymond Jr; sisters, Janette (Ben) and Jan Marie; grandchildren, Madalynn and Landon; uncles, Charlie (Terri) and Stuart; sister-in-law, Lori; and best friends, Barbara and Corrie. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Bobbie Jo was predeceased by her stepmother, Patricia Kershaw; grandmother, Janet Williams; and grandfather, Charles Quick.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a celebration of her life immediately following at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson.
