Elva Widing Blosat, 87, of Holly Springs, N.C.

Elva Widing Blosat, age 87, went home to live for eternity with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

Born Nov. 16, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived and served in ministry for 50 years alongside her husband, a Baptist pastor, in Kansas, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Kingston, N.Y., before retiring and settling in Holly Springs, N.C., in 2000. Elva will be remembered most for her love of Jesus and love of all people.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Rev. Norman Blosat; three daughters, and their spouses, Deborah and Anthony Bruno, Norelle and Wayne Lutke, and Erica and David Burdine; eight grandchild­ren; eleven great-grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents, her three siblings, and her two infant children, Paul and Brenda.

A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Fellowship of Christ, 1788 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons are welcome and may be given, in Elva’s honor, to the “benevolenc­e fund” to help those in need, at either of the following churches: First Baptist Church, 73 Albany Avenue, Kingston, N.Y., 12401, or Fellowship of Christ at above address.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Retreat at Cary, the residentia­l care home where Elva lived for the past 11 months, and the staff at Heartland Hospice Care, for their excellent care and compassion.
