Sonia A. Misner of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Kingston, N.Y., and Auburn, N.Y., died on May 5, 2017, at her home is Pensacola, Fla. from a long illness. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Michael and Mary Chamulak of Auburn, N.Y.

She was predecease­d by her granddaugh­ter Heather Lynn Hermance. She is survived by her husband Donald of 61 years who is a 20-year Marine Corps veteran who served in combat in the Vietnam War. She is also survived by her sons, Donald Jr. of Plano, Texas and his wife Sally, Michael of Dallas, Texas and his wife Sherri, Gary and his wife Donna of Charlotte, N.C.; and daughter, Kim Hermance of Tillson, N.Y., and her husband Richard. She is also survived by eight grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren.

Sonia was a loving military spouse, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r. When Don was away serving our country, Sonia took care of the children. She was described by her son-in law as the best motherin-law a man could ever have. She would always love to get the family together, which was hard with the children living spread out across the country. Sonia enjoyed playing cards with her friends, Bingo, Bunco, and best of all, a good Bushwhacke­r. Cremation was in Pensacola, Fla. A memorial service along with interment of the cremation remains will be at the Rosendale Plains Cemetery in Tillson, N.Y., at a date to be determined.
