Senior groups list meeting schedules
‘Successful Aging’ events slated in Dutchess
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. >> The following Dutchess County “Successful Aging” events are scheduled:
• Tuesday, May 23, at 1 p.m., Community Room of Wells Manor, Wells Manor Lane, Rhinebeck. Call (845) 486-2555 for more information.

To request an Office for the Aging presentation for a senior, social and/or civic group, get in touch with outreach coordinator Brian Jones by calling (845) 486-2555 or sending an email to bjones@ dutchessny.gov. All you need provide is a venue that’s accessible and open to the public, and a space to set up a projector and screen. Keep in mind that, during the summer, most Wednesdays are occupied with Summer Senior Picnics.
The Town of Ulster Senior Club will meet Thursday, May 25, at the Town of Ulster Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.
Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 1 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack. She will talk about issues related to senior citizens and the exhibits she has by her office, as well as answer questions.
The group’s meetings are a time for friendship, socialization and the sharing of ideas. New members are always welcome. Following the meetings, those who wish to stay can play bingo.
Kingston Chapter No. 2039 of AARP will meet Wednesday, May 24, at 1 p.m. at the Esopus Town Hall, 284 Broadway.
The guest speaker will be from the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center. She will be accompanied by some of the center’s wildlife.
There will be a chance to sign up for the installation lunch on June 15 at Ole Savannah in Kingston. The cost is $25 per person.
The next executive
board meeting will take place Friday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Esopus Town Hall.
The following trips are planned:
• Sept. 6-8, Gettysburg, Pa., Visitor’s Center museum experience, with a guided tour of the Gettysburg battlefield, the Lincoln Train Museum, an evening ghostly images tour and other attractions. The cost is $415 per person, double occupancy, $534 per person, single occupancy; and $399 per person, triple occupancy. A $100 deposit is due upon signing up. The bus will leave Kingston Plaza at 7 a.m.
• Oct. 13, Octoberfest at the Brownstone. Alex Meixner and his band will put on an incomparable display of musical virtuosity. There will also be authentic German dancing and bell , along with wonderful food. There will be a familystyle menu with two complimentary drinks. The cost is $85 per person. The bus leaves Kingston Plaza at 9 a.m.
