Kingston reaches Class A title match

For the third time in less than a month, Kingston High will face Monroe-Woodbury.

This time, the Section 9, Class A girls lacrosse title will be on the line.

Grace Gavis had five goals and three assists, as the top-seeded (143) Tigers rolled to a 16-5 victory over No. 4 Middletown in a sectional semifinal match on Monday at Dietz Stadium. Kingston will face the (12-4) Crusaders in the A championsh­ip 6 p.m. Wednesday at Newburgh Free Academy.

Monroe advanced to the final with an 18-4 victory over No. 3 Valley Central.

In their two previous meetings, the Tigers defeated Monroe both times in overtime. Kingston topped the Cruasders 8-7 at Dietz Stadium on May 10 before outlasting Mon-

roe 12-11 last Friday in Central Valley.

In Monday’s semifinal,

Julianna Sickler scored four goals, while Kendal Parker (assist) and Cameron Letus added three goals each for the Tigers, who held the Middies to one goal in the second half. Kingston led 16-5 at the half. Analiese Amato (assist),

Nora Prizzi and Meghan Gavis scored two goals each, while Paige Kowal and Lauren Davis added a goal apiece.

Emily Schatzel had an assist, while Sophia Reinhardt (one save) and Grace Perry

were in goal for Kingston, which outshot Middletown, 35-7.

Thelma Outlaw scored five goals, while Kiarra Kennedy added a goal for the Middies. Emily Moldando, meanwhile, stopped 10 shots in the loss.
