BASEBALL Camps Senators Baseball Camp: For ages 7-12 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 2428 at SUNY Ulster. Led by Ulster head coach Steven Morse. Camp focuses on basic fundamentals in addition to intense work on learning and improving skills, effective drills and developing proper work habits. Athletes place into groups based on age and ability. Players also have the opportunity to learn about other positions during specialty groups. Coach-to-athlete ration is 1:12. Bring a glove, bat, baseball hat, long athletic pants and footwear (rubber spikes/ sneakers). Catchers should bring chest protector, helmet, shin guards and facemask if they have them. Led by Ulster head coach Justin Maxwell. Typical day will include station work, games, competitions, lunch and a basketball documentary. Athletes will play for daily prizes. Awards are handed out for each age group at the end of the week. Coach-to-athlete ration is 1:12. Bring basketball shoes, shorts, T-shirt and any other basketball equipment personally needed. Registration deadline: May 31. The 8-10 age Division can be individual or team submission. Fee is $35. The 11-14 and 15-18 divisions are team submissions only. The fee is $300 for a team, up to 10 players, extra players are $35. Games are 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; total of 5 games (July 6, 11, 13, 18 and 20). The 11-14 and 15-18 division championships is best-of-5 series. League cookout and recognition ceremony is 5:30 p.m. July 25 at Hasbrouck Park. YMCA offers two 1-week sessions at Camp Seewackamano in Shokan. Dates are July 10-14 and Aug. 14-18. Times are 9 a.m.4 p.m. Campers develop mountain bike skills through trail rides and games and spend four days offsite at trail locations (which may include Lippman Park, Ferncliff Forest, Elm Ridge, Lake Minnewaska State Park and others). Basic safety and maintenance as well as environmental responsibilities that come with outdoor recreation are covered. A geared bike in good working order with off-road tires measuring at least 2 inches in width, plus helmet are required. This is an intermediate level program and not intended for beginners.
