Charlotte M. Johnson, 91, of Kingston, N.Y., formerly of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017.

She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Atwood, N.Y., daughter of the late, Betty (Turner) Welch. She was married to the late Henry “Lefty” M. Johnson, they wed on July 8, 1950. Lefty passed away on Jan. 17, 2012.

Charlotte was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1944. She was an Account Clerk for Newburgh Board of Education. Charlotte was a member of The Evangelica­l Lutheran Church of The Redeemer in Kingston. She volunteere­d at the Visitor’s Center in Kingston, Benedictin­e Hospital, and the RSVP Office. She was part of the Kingston Parks and Rec Home Crafters and was active in the Democratic Party.

She is survived by her children, Stephen H. Johnson and his wife Patricia of Kingston, Lynn C. Fanning and her husband Thomas of Saugerties, Timothy E. Johnson and his wife Deidre of Tucson, Ariz.; her grandchild­ren, Katherine Petrie and her husband Brian, Matthew Johnson and his wife Diana, Charlynn Caputo and her fiancée Kyle Kreig and Peter Caputo; her great-grandchild­ren, Chase, Kellan, and Quinn Petrie and Jacoby and Devin Johnson.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. with the service starting at 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank her personal caregivers, Alfredo and Vanessa, as well as the entire staff of Ten Broeck Commons for the gracious care they provided to Charlotte.
