Dutchess County Senior Prom will be Oct. 16

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. » The 22nd annual Dutchess County Senior Prom will take place Monday, Oct. 16, from noon to 4 p.m. at Villa Borghese, 70 Widmer Road, according to the Dutchess County Office for the Aging.

The prom will again be co-hosted by the Pines at Poughkeeps­ie. This year’s theme is “School Days.” Attendees are encouraged to wear all types of dress from the time they went to high school and/or college, including clothing and accessorie­s in their schools’ colors. The full Bob Martinson Band will pr ovid entertainm­ent.

Advance registrati­on and ticket requests are not being taken yet, but will be soon. Those interested in attending the prom should keep reading the Office for the Aging’s Golden Living column to find out more. They should also look for the prom registrati­on form in the fall edition of the Office for the Aging’s “Spotlight on Seniors” newsletter. It’s due out in late August.

Senior groups list meeting schedules

WOODSTOCK, N.Y. » The Woodstock Senior Citizens will have their annual picnic on Wednesday, July 19, at noon at the West Hurley pavilion.

PORT EWEN, N.Y. » The Town of Esopus Seniors will meet Monday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at the Esopus Town Hall Community Center, 284 Broadway.

There will be a speaker from the Institute of Family Health talking about heart health.

The bus for the July 19 trip to see “You’ve Got A Friend” will leave the Town Hall Community Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

On Monday, Aug. 7, at

noon, the group will have its Kentucky Friend Chicken picnic at the George Freer Beach Park, 104 Canal St. Prepaid reservatio­ns are $5 and are a must. those planning to attend the picnic can sign up and pay at the meeting on July 17.

The deadline is July 17 to sign up and pay for the Lake

George luncheon cruise and bus trip. The cost is $45 for Town of Esopus Seniors members and $55 for nonmembers.
