Fuchs-White gets hat trick in Red Hook victory

AJ Fuchs-White’s three goals lifted Red Hook High over Highland, 6-1, in Mid-Hudson Athletic League action. Abby Williams, Erika Liutich and Syr Esposito each contribute­d a goal for the Raiders.

AJ FuchsWhite’s hat trick lifted Red Hook High over Highland, 6-1, in a MidHudson Athletic League girls soccer match on Friday.

Fuchs-White connected with Abby Williams in the 12th minute to make it 1-0. Williams put one in the net in the 19th minute to make it 2-0. Fuchs-White made it 3-0 in the 24th minute.

Erika Ljutich would add a fourth, assisted by Grace Hennig, in the 30th before Fuch’s-White connected with Hennig in the 37th minute to give the Raiders a 5-0 halftime lead.

Syr Esposito scored on a penalty kick in the 45th minute to close out Red Hook’s scoring.

Red Hook held the Huskies scoreless until the 78th minute, when Isabella Valentino scored their only goal off a Brooke Harris assist.

“I was very happy with the statement we made in the first half,” Red Hook coach Jason Pavlich said. “We moved the ball well in every area of the field and our speed of play improves a little with every game.”

The (3-0, 2-0) Raiders dominated in shots on goal, 19-4, with the (3-1, 1-1) Huskies holding a 3-2 edge on corners.

Substitute­d in for Amber Serrano in the second half, Lauren Stokes had Red Hook’s only save. Mollee Stafford had seven saves for the Huskies in the first half, while Angelica Silva had four stops after intermissi­on. Rhinebeck 6, Webutuck 0

At Rhinebeck, Samantha McClenahan had four goals and an assist as the Hawks soared in their home opener.

McClenahan connected on a Kaya Binetti assist in the seventh minute to make it 1-0. She found the net again off a Libby Callahan assist three minutes later to make it 2-0.

Elena Cody scored off an assist from McClenahan to make it 3-0 at the half.

McClenahan linked up with Callahan again in the 46th minute put the Hawks up 4-0. Stephanie Cassens then connected with Sara Tobias in the 60th minute, before McClenahan capped off her day by scoring off an Elise Voorhis assist in the 65th minute.

“Libby Callahan controlled the midfield today and really pushed the ball forward for us,” Hawks Coach Matt Grande said.

Rhinebeck dominated, 20-5, in shots on goal and held a 6-1 edge in corners.

Dani Amidon had three stops for the Hawks, while Laura Mendez registered 12 for Webutuck. Marlboro 3, Roosevelt 2

At Marlboro, a pair of Hannah Sullivan goals in the first 20 minutes helped lead the Dukes.

Sullivan connected with Kali Schindler in the fourth and 19th minute to make it 2-0. The Presidents’ Emma Rasco found the net on a RyeanMarie Duncan assist 29th minute to make it 2-1.

Lizzy Lofaro scored to make it 3-1 Marlboro before Abby Thomas converted a Sydney Currier assist in the 76th minute to get Roosevelt within in one.

“Both teams played well in the midfield third of the field,” Dukes Coach Keith Walker said. “Marlboro took advantage of timely through passes for midfielder Kali Schindler to get the early lead from Hannah Sullivan’s goals.

“The Marlboro defense did a great job of closing down and denying penetratin­g passes.”

The (1-1, 1-1) Dukes held a 14-6 edge on shots on goal.

Alyssa Stoebling recorded four saves for the Dukes, while Alana Cathcart had 10 stops for (1-2, 1-2) Roosevelt. Greenville 2, Saugerties 0

At Greenville, The Sawyers fell to Section 2’s Greenville in a non-league match.

After 59 minutes of scoreless soccer, Kaitlyn Silk put one in the net to make it 1-0 Greenville, and Madalyn Krasney kicked on in the 78th minute to make it 2-0 for the win.

Renata Simera recorded 10 saves for (0-2, 0-1) Saugerties, while Kasey Pfleging had 10 for Greenville. Onteora 3, Ellenville 0

At Ellenville, Juliette Patterson and Halle King each scored a goal and had an assist as the Eagles beat the Blue Devils

Olivia Ingalsbe scored a goal and Analie Ingalsbe had an assist to lead Onteora.

The Eagles held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal.

Grace Hallinan recorded six saves for (2-11, 1-1) Onteora, while Colleen Stevens had seven stops and Vanelys Malave had one for (0-2, 0-1) Ellenville.
