Lecture on landscape designer takes place Nov. 6

WHAT: Lecture, “Beatrix Farrand, Landscape Designer” WHEN: Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. WHERE: Cornwall Presbyteri­an Fellowship Hall, 222 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson DETAILS: The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, in partnershi­p with the Cornwall Presbyteri­an Church presents a lecture titled “Beatrix Farrand, Landscape Designer.” Famous for her complex flower borders, as well as advocacy of native landscapes and plants, Farrand was one of the foremost landscape designers of the early 1900s. Join Karen Smythe, executive director of the Beatrix Farrand Garden Associatio­n, will talk about Farrand’s life and work, as well as the restoratio­n of one of her early residentia­l designs in Hyde Park. Learn about how to identify, update, maintain and secure your important life documents. Johanna works to make sense of the myriad papers accumulate­d during life and to prepare them for designated family members, and/or trusted advisors as necessary, or just for yourself.
