James ‘Jim’ Fischang, Sr., 69, of Kingston

James “Jim” Fischang, Sr., of the Boulevard died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at his home in Kingston. Jim was born in Kingston on Nov. 15, 1948; the son of the late Henry and Natalie Topp Fischang. He married the love of his life, the late Carmen “Micki” Fischang on Jan. 16, 1972.

Jim worked most of his career as a truck driver for Speisman’s Bakery and most recently for the Kingston School District for 15 years before retiring in 2007. After retirement Jim enjoyed listening to the police scanner, watching MASH, and scrolling through facebook pages. You could always find him sitting on his porch keeping an eye on the Boulevard. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and going on vacation from time to time. He was a proud father and grandfathe­r who always put his family above all else.

Surviving is his son, James Fischang, Jr., and his wife Kim of Ellenville; his daughter, Jodi Arold and her husband Ryan of Saugerties; and his grandsons, Jake and Aiden.

Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends will be received on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
