Man fired shotgun at officers, police say
A Hillsdale man fired on law-enforcement officers with a shotgun as they responded to a call for a domestic dispute, police said Wednesday.
State police said troopers and members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a domestic dispute on state Route 22 that might involve a shotgun. When officers arrived, a man later identified as Tyler D. Meltz came out of the home and fired the shotgun at the patrols, police said.
