The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
City of Kingston
· Weapon: Makinde A. Valdez, 20, of Kingston was arrested Tuesday on two counts of possession of a weapon and one count each of criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property, all felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal contempt and the violation of possession of marijuana. Kingston police said members of the Special Investigations Unit/ URGENT task force found Valdez on Washington Avenue in the city and knew he was wanted on an arrest warrant from Kingston City Court. After being taken into custody, Valdez was found with a loaded handgun, a quantity of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.
Town of Ulster
· Rape: Clarissa A. Barnhart, 25, of Accord was arrested at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday by state police at
Ulster at their barracks on U.S. Route 209 on felony charges of rape, criminal sexual act and disseminating indecent materials to a minor. Police said the charges against Barnhart involve one alleged victim who was described as a male under the age of 17. The investigation is ongoing, police said. Barnhart was arraigned in Rochester Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
· Offering false instrument: Ayesha Green, 31, of Kingston was arrested Tuesday on four counts of offering a false instrument for filing and one count of possession of a forged instrument, all felonies. She was also charged with the misdemeanor of attempted welfare fraud. Ulster County sheriff’s deputies arrested Green following an investigation by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities said that investigation determined Green submitted various applications and forms to the Department of Social Services that contained false information and forged signatures in an attempt to obtain public assistance. She was released on tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.
Gardiner
· DWI: Erik L. Andersson, 26, of Gardiner was arrested at 12:33 a.m. Wednesday on Route 44-55 by state police at Wawarsing on the misdemeanors of drunken driving and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on tickets to appear in Gardiner Town Court.
Lloyd
· Drugs: Jerry L. Pittman, 50, of Highland, was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of criminal contempt and misdemeanor charges of menacing and possession of a weapon. He is accused of threatening a person with a knife and violating two orders of protection from Poughkeepsie City Court and Lloyd Town Court during a domestic dispute, Lloyd police said. Pittman was arraigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Wawarsing
· Drugs: Christina Rollins, 28, of Olivebridge was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 209 by state police at Wawarsing on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance, as well as the violation of possession of marijuana and the infraction of driving a vehicle without an inspection certificate. She was released on tickets to appear in Wawarsing Town Court.
