Joan M. Mitchell, 76, formerly of Foxhall Avenue, Kingston died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at HealthAlli­ance Hospital Broadway Campus.

Born April 16, 1941 in Margaretvi­lle, New York she is the daughter of the late William Pultz and Margaret (Osterhoudt) Plass and stepfather George Plass.

Joan was employed as an assignment clerk for New York Telephone for thirty years. She was an avid New York Giants fan. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, playing Pinochle and Garbage card games. In her earlier years she loved traveling with her late husband Frank.

Joan is survived by her children: Ralph Mitchell and his wife Lori of Yarmouth, Mass., Frank Mitchell and his wife Filomena of San Diego, Calif., and Dawn Namias and her husband Robert of Port Ewen; grandchild­ren: Ralph Mitchell, Jr., Nicholas Mitchell, Lucas Mitchell, Stephani Mitchell, Dylan Mitchell, Joni Boelscher, Jason Coursey, Jayare Mitchell, Megan Flores, Robert Namias, and Anthony Namias; 21 great-grandchild­ren and a sister-in-law Fay King also survives.

She is predecease­d by her husband Frank Mitchell and sister-in-law Theresa Smith.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral home service will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Montrepose Cemetery.
