Highland tops Pine Plains in OT
Dario DiValentino scored 22 points to power Highland High to a 52-49 overtime victory over Pine Plains in a non-league boys basketball game on Friday.
The Bombers held a 2212 lead at the half, but a 17-9 third helped the Huskies pull within two heading into the final period of play where they tied the score 44-44 at the end of regulation.
Barry Dylan scored 10 points and four assists to round out Highland’s attack.
Matthew Funk scored 22 points; Jacob Lydon added 11 points; and Trevor Hurst had 10 to pace Pine Plains. At Saugerties, the Sawyers celebrated senior night by rolling in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game.
Saugerties put up a 2810 first and followed it up with a 25-8 second to go up 53-18 at the half. They proceeded to hold the Ganders to just two baskets in the second half.
Dior Johnson had 18 points and five assists; Dan Passante scored 12 points; Jack Hindes added five points and 10 rebounds; and Austin Curlin contributed four points, five rebounds, three steals and nine assists to power Saugerties.

At Rhinebeck, a 15-2 fourth quarter sealed a Blazers victory in a league contest.
The game remained close throughout the first half with Millbrook holding a 29-27 lead at the half after Rhinebeck led 15-12 after the first.
Umberto Cabrera scoerd 29 points to lead the Blazers.

At Hyde Park, Kevin Henri and Dylan Craft each scored 16 points to lead the (6-10) Presidents.
Roosevelt held a 36-21 lead at the half and they never looked back in MHAL action.
“Our defensive pressure made the difference in the game,” Presidents coach Kevin Hart said.

At Monticello, Jason Davis scored 15 points in the loss for the Raiders, who were outscored 26-15 in the fourth quarter after leading 39-35 after three.
Hunter Cole scored 13 points, while James Flood added 10 for Red Hook.
Alberto Flores scored a game-high 22 points to lead Monticello, with Tyriek Whidbee adding 14 points and 11 rebounds.
