Senior groups list meeting schedules

PORT EWEN, N.Y. » Kinston Chapter No. 2039 of AARP 2039 will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at noon at Esopus Town hall, 284 Broadway.

The group will have its Valentine Luncheon. Please bring a dish to pass or you can pay $5 at the door. For reservatio­ns, call Helen at 9845) 339-4611.

Note that the group’s meeting dates have been changed to the second Wednesday of the month. The guest speaker will be from the Kingston Police Department K9 Unit.

The next board meeting will be on Friday, March 2, at Esopus Town Hall.

The group is planning a trip to Lancaster, Pa., to see “Jesus,” a new show, at the Sight and Sound Theater. There will also be other attraction­s.

The cost is $467 per person, double occupancy; $567 per person, single occupancy, and $455 per person, triple occupancy.

More trips will be announced soon. TOWN OF KINGSTON, N.Y. » The Sawkill Seniors will meet Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. at Kingston Town Hall.

Kim Butwell from the Ulster County Office of the Aging and Celeste Graves will both speak about tai chi, an excellent exercise for balance and stress relief.

Monthly meetings take place the second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. The meetings begin with a guest speaker and formal format, followed by a raffle, socializin­g and refreshmen­ts. There is also a card game or bingo for those who wish to participat­e. New members are welcome.

ROSENDALE, N.Y. » The town of Rosendale Seniors will have a social meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Rosendale Recreation Center, Route 32.

The theme will be the origin of Valentine’s Day, followed by bingo.

An executive board meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the center, followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m.

Reservatio­ns are being taken for the first day trip of the year to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton, N.J., on May 17, to see “Steel Magnolias” and dinner. The cost is $66 per person.

Reservatio­ns are also being taken for the a trip to New Orleans, from Aug. 25 to Sept. 2. Attraction­s will include the National World War II Museum, Harrah’s Casino, Mardi Gras World and a boat cruise. The cost is $829 per person, double occupancy. New members are always welcome. Nonmembers are always invited to meetings and on trips.
