Catskill
• Welfare fraud: Serena Ledsome, age unavailable, of Catskill was arrested on Monday by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies and was charged with welfare fraud and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies, according to the Ulster County Executive’s Office. An investigation determined that Ledsome failed to report income from October 2017 through February 2018, resulting in Ledsome receiving $1,701 in Temporary Assistance benefits and $409 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to which she was not entitled, the office said. She was released pending an appearance in Ulster Town Court.
Highland
• Welfare Fraud: Jacqueline Watt, age unavailable, of Highland, was arrested Monday by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies and was charged with welfare fraud and 12 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies, according to the Ulster County Executive’s Office. An investigation determined that Watt, a daycare provider, repeatedly falsified paperwork submitted to the Daycare Unit from November 2016 through November 2017, resulting in Ms. Watt receiving $1,298.70 in daycare payments to which she was not entitled, authorities said. She was arraigned in Town of Esopus Court and ordered held at the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 bail pending an appearance in Ulster Town Court.
• Conspiracy: Three boys, one age 17 and two age 16, who were not identified, were arrested by state police at Highland Tuesday at 5 p.m. and were each charged with conspiracy, a misdemeanor, and assault, a felony, while in a correctional facility in Highland. All three were held pending a court appearance. No further information was available.
Marlborough
• Welfare Fraud: Amy Webb, age unavailable, of Marlboro, was arrested Monday by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies and was charged with welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies, according to the Ulster County Executve’s Office. An investigation determined that Webb failed to report employment and income in a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program application filed in May 2017, resulting in Webb receiving $4,268 in SNAP benefits to which she was not entitled, the office said. She was released pending an appearance in Ulster Town Court.
Town of Rochester
• Drugs: Victor Miranda-Aguirre, 32, of Kerhonkson, was arrested at 11 p.m. Tuesday by state police at Wawarsing on Samsonville Road and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and having a controlled substance in non-original container, a violation. Miranda-Aguirre was issued a court appearance ticket. Further information was unavailable.
Town of Ulster
• Drugs: Francesca A. Madden, 24, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. on DeWitt Lake Road and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was issued a ticket for Ulster Town Court. Further information was unavailable.
Wawarsing
• Contraband: Luis Martinez, 25, of Manhattan, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday at 750 Berme Road and was charged with possessing prison contraband, a felony. He was held pending a court appearance. Further information was unavailable.
