Author Goodman at Staatsburg Library on April 9

WHAT: Author reading and book signing

WHEN: April 9 at 7 p.m. WHERE: Staatsburg Library, 70 Old Post Road, Staatsburg DETAILS: Author Carol Goodman will be at the library for a reading, question-and-answer session and book signing for her new book, “The Other Mother,” a gripping novel about madness, motherhood, love and trust. When Daphne Marist and her infant daughter pull up the gravel drive to the home of Marist’s new employer, it feels like they’ve entered a new world. Tucked in the Catskills, the stone mansion looks like something out of a fairy tale, its lush landscaping hiding the view of the mental asylum beyond its border. Daphne secured the live-in position using an assumed name and fake credentials, telling no one she’s on the run from a controlling husband who has threatened to take her daughter away. The program is free and open to all. CONTACT: Call (845) 8894683 or send an email to staatslibrary@gmail.com for more information.
