Stephen John Miller, 82, of Kingston, died peacefully on April 1, 2018, in Rhinebeck, N.Y.
He was born in Kingston on Feb. 29, 1936, to the late Marie (Hoben) and John Miller.
He lived a colorful and adventurous life. His time on the road gave him so many wonderful stories that he loved to share. Nothing about him was conventional; he was born on a Leap Year and died on April Fool’s Day. His social security number ended in “007.” He lived life his way and left it without regrets.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Miller; a son, Stephan Royce; two grandchildren, Stephan and Ashley Royce; a cousin, Cathy Every; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and many close friends.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Miller and Joan Crespino.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides of Ferncliff, HV Hospice, Dr. Ronald Kaufmann Jr. of Albany, N.Y., and his friends for their kindness and support.
Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston, N.Y. (www.jvleahyfh.com) Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services and entombment at the Miller family plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be at 1:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest next to his friends, Moses Harrell and Ronald Pullman.
