The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Esopus
• Obstruction of breathing: Kurton K. Lindow, 31,of Esopus, was arrested by state police at Highland at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday and was charged with obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief, all misdemeanors, and with harassment, a violation. Lindow was released with an appearance ticket for Esopus Town Court.
• Menacing: Kareem K. Bonaventure, 42, of Esopus, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after police responded to a 911 call reporting a residential dispute and was charged with menacing, a misdemeanor. Bonaventure is accused of striking the victim. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a court appearance.
Plattekill
• Grand larceny/unlawfully dealing with a child: Kenneth H. Ralph, 23, of the hamlet of Wallkill, was arrested by state police at Highland on Wednesday and was charged with grand larceny, a felony. Additionally, Ralph was charged with the misdemeanors of unlawfully dealing with a child, attempted grand larceny and petit larceny. Police said Ralph met a SUNY New Paltz student on social media and then provided her with alcohol. Police said the student was under the legal drinking age of 21. Ralph subsequently attempted to extort money from the victim, according to police. State police were assisted in the investigation by the state police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit, SUNY New Paltz University Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Ralph was arraigned in New Paltz Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail pending a court appearance.
