Four teens charged in home invasion
HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y.
» Four teens are under arrest following a home invasion robbery at a house on Lenart Place, according to authorities.
East Fishkill police say they responded to a call Thursday at 7:30 p.m. about a break-in in which four people had forced their way into a man’s home and robbed him before fleeing the scene. Responding officers located two suspects in a car parked down the street and two others fled into a wooded area, authorities said.
State police responded with a K-9 unit and additional troopers to assist in the search. A short time later, an East Fishkill detective located two males walking on Creamery Road. The two were identified as the suspects and arrested, authorities said.
Charged in the incident were Ryan Avery, 18, of Hopewell Junction; Jaylene Shaw, 17, of Hyde Park; Carmin Young, 17, of Poughkeepsie; and Paulina Rigoloso, 16, of Gardiner. They were each charged with burglary, robbery and conspiracy, all felonies, and menacing, a misdemeanor, authorities said.
All four were arraigned before East Fishkill Justice Romig and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond, pending their return to court.
The incident is still under investigation, but authorities said it appears the victim was known to at least one of the defendants and that the robbery was not a random act.
