Corabelle L. North, 89, of Saugerties

SAUGERTIES » Corabelle L. North, 89, passed away suddenly at her home Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Saugerties, she was the daughter of the late George and Carrie Field Brown and was a longtime resident of Glenford before moving to Daytona, Fla., and moving back to Saugerties in 2003.

She was a volunteer in the Kingston Hospital Emergency Room and was active in the West Hurley Fire Department and Rescue Squad. She was also active with Ulster County Disaster Preparedness for several years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford North; a sister, Mary Jane North; and two brothers, John and George Brown.

Surviving are her children, Clifford North of West Hurley, Darlene Steele of South Carolina, Linda Rios of Saugerties, and Theresa Jacobson of Olivebridge; a sister, Carrien Crantz of Kingston; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lasher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m.
