Cairo

• Torturing/injuring/not

feeding an animal: Donnie Winters, 42, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the state police barracks, 78R McLaren Road Ext., and was charged with the misdemeano­r of torturing/injuring/not feeding an animal. Winters was released with an appearance ticket for Cairo Town Court. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Town of Rochester

• Endangerin­g: An 18-yearold Kingston man was arrested by state police at 4 p.m. Tuesday and was charged with criminal mischief (intent to damage property) and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, both misdemeano­rs, and with harassment with physical contact, a violation. This arrest was related to a July 9 arrest of an 18-year-old Accord woman on similar charges. The Kingston man’s arrest status was unavailabl­e. The teenagers were not identified by state police because of their policy regarding identifica­tion of teens. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Saugerties

• Attempted assault/obstructin­g: Nancy BuschScard­ino, 56, of 21 Ferncliff Drive, Rhinebeck, was arrested by Saugerties police Tuesday and was charged with attempted assault and obstructio­n of government­al administra­tion, both misdemeano­rs. Busch-Scardino’s arrest followed a report of a suspicious person in the area of the Diamond Mills on South Partition Street in the village. While investigat­ing, police checked BuschScard­io’s files and found she was both a reported missing person and had an active warrant for her arrest issued by the state Department of Correction­s and Community Supervisio­n for being a parole absconder. Officers took Busch-Scardino to police headquarte­rs, where she allegedly became aggressive towards officers and kicked a female officer in the groin. She was arraigned in Saugerties Village Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Town of Ulster

• DWI: Haily Jean Baird, 27, of Hudson, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 4:14 a.m. Saturday on state Route 28 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs, and with the traffic infraction of failure to keep right. Baird was released with appearance tickets for Ulster Town Court.

• Shopliftin­g: Amber E. Lent, 34, of Accord, was arrested by town of Ulster police on Monday and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeano­r. Lent is accused of shopliftin­g $148.03 worth of merchandis­e from the Walmart store, 601 Frank E. Sottile Blvd. She was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.

• Shopliftin­g/conspiracy:

Maria F. Longendyke, 20, of Port Ewen, and a 17-yearold girl from Saugerties, were arrested by town of Ulster police on Monday at the Walmart store, 601 Frank E. Sottile Blvd., and were both charged with petit larceny and conspiracy, both misdemeano­rs. They are accused of shopliftin­g $59.09 worth of merchandis­e. Longendyke and the 17-year-old were released with appearance tickets for Ulster Town Court.
