18U Fillies capture Showcase title

The Kingston American Legion Post 150 18U Ulster Fillies beat the Rapid Fire 18U 8-1 to capture the College Showcase event at the College Exposure Weekend at the Cantine Memorial Sports Complex.

The Fillies went 6-0 in the tournament, their second tournament win in two weeks.

Kacie Allison threw a complete game five-hitter to pick up the win. Jess Chilcott (home run, single, double), Alyssa Villielm (two singles, two RBI), Alex Mckearin (double, two RBI), Shannon Bonewit (two RBI), Sydney Bonewit (triple).

In the semifinals, Tori Decker earned the win a 15-1 victory over the MW Crusaders Elite and also belted a two-run homer and smacked a single.

Allison (home run, single, four RBI), Villielm (two singles, two RBI), Shannon Bonewit (two singles, two RBI), Alyssa Finno (double, single), Kailey Collins (two RBI) and Chilcott (double).

Megan Peace hit two three-run homers in a 10-0 win over the Keystone Select in the quarterfin­als.

Decker got the win, while the Kingston’s attack was led by Chilcott (double, two singles), Shannon Bonewit (two RBI), Allison (double), and Finno (double).

In pool play, the Fillies beat the Collar City Fastpitch 5-0, rolled past the MW Crusaders 14-1 and Lansingbur­gh Lady Royals 7-0.

Allison pitched to wins over Collar City and Lady Royals while Decker defeated the Crusaders 18U 14-1.

Chilcott (home run, two doubles, seven RBI), Shannon Bonewit (two doubles, four singles, three RBI), Mckearin (home run, double, single, five RBI), Peace (two doubles, three singles), Finno (home run, three singles), Sydney Bonewit (two doubles, single), Vanessa Brandt (four singles), Decker (three singles, three RBI), Allison (three singles), Villielm (three singles), Collins (double, single) led the Fillies who are (22-5) this summer.
