Kingston, Mount Academy sweep to victories in OCIAA play

Kingston and Mount Academy swept to victory in Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n volleyball action.

Kingston 3, Valley Central 0

At Kingston, the Tigers defeated Valley Central 2514, 25-9, 26-24 to improve their record to 7-1 overall.

Tori Ost (12 kills, seven aces, seven digs), Shannon Bonewit (11 kills, one block, one ace, two assists, 12 digs), Victoria Demercurio (six digs, three aces, two assists), Kailyn Lukaskewsk­i (two kills, three aces, three digs) and Rachel Cook (three kills, two digs, one assist) had big outings for Kingston.

Tori Boulay distribute­d 26 assists and had seven digs and five kills to direct the offense.

Jaime Rodriguez (three kills, 12 digs) and Chloe Beranger (four kills, eights assists, two aces, one dig) paced the Vikings.

Kingston is home again Wednesday, Oct. 3, to play Middletown in a Division I match.

Mount Academy 3, Chester 0

At Esopus, Mount Academy downed Chester 25-10, 25-12, 27-25.

Cayler Boller (seven kills, seven digs, 17 service points, 11 aces, one block), Adela Blough (nine assists, one block), Kaitlyn Arnold (12 assists, two aces) and Vera Tietze (six kills, three blocks) powered the Eagles.

Mount Academy, now 8-2 overall, travels to Sullivan West Wednesday for a Division III match.
