Kingston earns return trip to Class AA finals

Tori Boulay had 47 assists, 12 digs, four aces and three kills, as reigning Section 9, Class AA volleyball champion Kingston High advanced to the final with a come-from-behind 1825, 25-18, 25-22, 25-13 semifinal victory over Warwick.

The top-seeded (13-3) Tigers will face No. 3 Pine Bush for the title 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh. The Lady Bushmen swept No. 2 Minisink Valley in the other semifinal.

Kingston and Pine Bush split their two Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n regular-season matches, with the Tigers outlasting the Lady Bushmen in five sets on Sept. 15 before Pine Bush rebounding for a fourset win over Kingston on Oct. 4.

The teams shared the OCIAA Division 1 crown.

Tori Ost had 28 kills, 13 digs and an ace, while Shannon Bonewit added 18 kills, 10 digs, three aces, one block and one assist against Warwick. Kailyn Lukaszewsk­i contribute­d 15 digs, four kills and three aces for the Tigers.

Other contributi­ons came from Victoria DeMercurio (nine digs, three assists, one ace), Grace Tremper (four digs, two aces), Julia Jankowski (five digs) and Rachel Cook (two kills).

Gabbi Gaibur had 18 kills and two aces to lead the fourth-seeded (13-4) Wildcats, with other contributi­ons coming from Lily Newkirk (seven kills, eight digs, two aces), Sarah Davis (27 assists, four kills, two digs, one block) and Catie Wegas (five kills).
