Here’s what you’ll find on today’s local ballots

Election Day is upon us. Here’s a list of candidates and propositio­ns that will be on local ballots on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

State offices

Governor: Incumbent Andrew Cuomo and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, both Democrats, are being challenged by Republican Marc Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, and his running mate, Julie Killian. Also on the ballot are Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and running mate Jia Lee; independen­t candidate Stephanie Miner and running

mate Michael Volpe; and Libertaria­n Larry Sharpe and running mate Andrew Hollister. Cuomo and Hochul will be on the Democratic, Working Families, Independen­ce and Women’s Equality party lines. Molinaro and Killian will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve and Reform lines. The winner will serve a fouryear term.

Comptrolle­r: Incumbent Thomas DiNapoli, a Democrat, is being challenged by Jonathan Trichter, Mark Dunlea and Cruger Gallaudet. DiNapoli will be on the Democratic, Working Families, Independen­ce, Women’s Equality and Reform lines; Trichter will be on the Republican and Conservati­ve lines; Dunlea will be on the Green Party line; and Gallaudet will be on the Libertaria­n line. The winner will serve a four-year term.

Attorney general: The five candidates in race are Letitia James on the Democratic, Working Families and Independen­ce lines; Keith Wofford be on the Republican and Conservati­ve lines; Michael Sussman on the Green Party line; Nancy Silwa on the Reform Party line; Christophe­r Garvey on the Libertaria­n Party line. The winner will serve a four-year term. Incumbent Barbara Underwood is not running.

Federal offices

U.S. Senate, New York: Incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand is being challenged by Chele Chiavacci Farley. Gillibrand will be on the Democratic, Working Families, Independen­ce and Women’s Equality lines. Farley will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve and Reform lines. The winner will serve a six-year term.

New York’s 19th Congressio­nal District: Incumbent U.S. Rep. John Faso, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Antonio Delgado, Green Party candidate Steve Greenfield

and independen­t Diane Neal. Faso also holds the Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines, while Delgado also has the Working Families and Women’s Equality lines. The winner will serve a twoyear term.

State Assembly (twoyear terms)

101st District: Incumbent Brian Miller, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Chad McEvoy. Miller will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. McEvoy will be on the Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

102nd District: Incumbent Chris Tague, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Aidan O’Connor Jr. Tague also has the Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. O’Connor also has the Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

103rd District: Incumbent Kevin Cahill is running unopposed on the Democratic and Working Families lines.

104th District: Democrat Jonathan Jacobson and Republican Scott Manley are facing off to fill the seat formerly held by Democrat Frank Skartados, who died while in office this past April. Manley also will be on the Conservati­ve Party line.

106th District: Incumbent Didi Barrett, a Democrat, is being challenged by Republican William Truitt. Barrett will be on the Democratic, Working Families and Independen­ce lines. Truitt will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Women’s Equality and Reform lines.

State Senate (twoyear terms)

39th District: Republican Tom Basile and Democrat James Skoufis are vying for a Senate seat that is being vacated by longtime Republican William Larkin, who is retiring. Basile will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve

and Independen­ce lines. Skoufis will be on the Democratic, Working Families, Women’s Equality and Reform lines.

41st District: Incumbent Sue Serino, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Karen Smythe. Serino will appear on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. Smythe will be on the Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

42nd District: Republican Ann Rabbitt and Democrat Jen Metzger are facing off to replace retiring Republican John Bonacic. Rabbitt will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. Metzger will be on the Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

46th District: Incumbent George Amedore, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Pat Courtney Strong. Amedore will appear on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. Strong will appear on the Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

51st District: Incumbent James Seward, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Joyce St. George. Seward is running on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce and Reform lines. St. George is running on the Democratic and Women’s Equality party lines.

State Supreme Court (14-year term)

Third District: Voters will choose two people to serve as judges from a field of three candidates. The candidates are Democrats Margaret Walsh and Peter Lynch, and Republican William McCarthy. Walsh also holds the Working Families and Independen­ce lines. Lynch also holds the Working Families line. McCarthy also holds the Conservati­ve and Independen­ce lines.

Ninth District: Voters will choose seven people to serve as judges from a field of 10 candidates. The candidates on the Democratic

line are Hal B. Greenwald, Kathie E. Davidson, William Giacomo, David F. Everett, Barry E. Warhit, Joan B. Lefkowitz and Thomas P. Zugibe. On the Republican line are James F. Reitz, Phillip A. Grimaldi, Robert H. Freehill and Davidson. Reitz, Davidson, Grimaldi, Freehill and Zugibe also hold the Conservati­ve Party line. Davidson, Giacomo, Freehill, Lefkowitz and Zubige also hold the Independen­ce line. Freehill also has the Reform Party line.

Ulster County

Sheriff: Incumbent Paul VanBlarcum is being challenged by Juan Figueroa. VanBlarcum, a registered Democrat who failed to secure his party’s nomination, will run on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce, and Reform lines. Figueroa, also a registered Democrat, will run on his party’s line, as well as the Working Families and Women’s Equality lines. The winner will serve a four-year term.

Propositio­n: “Shall Section C-10 of the Ulster County Charter be amended to provide for the creation of an independen­t Redistrict­ing Commission, designed to exclude political influence in revising county legislativ­e districts, as proposed and unanimousl­y approved by the Ulster County Charter Revision Committee?”

Ulster County towns, villages

Ellenville village justice: Incumbent Matthew Parker is unopposed for another four-year term. He will be on the Democratic, Republican and Conservati­ve lines.

Ellenville village trustee: Incumbent John Gavaris is facing off against James Graham for a three-year term. Gavaris will be on the Democratic and Republican lines. Graham will be on the Conservati­ve line.

Marlboroug­h propositio­n: “Shall the annual contributi­on of the town of Marlboroug­h for the operating budget for the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library

be increased by $20,000 to the sum of $152,500 annually?”

Olive propositio­n: “Shall the annual contributi­on of the town of Olive for the operating budget of the Olive Free Library Associatio­n be increased from the sum of $133,142 to $148,142 annually?”

Plattekill town justice: Incumbent Robert Murphy is unopposed for a four-year term. He will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve and Independen­ce lines.

Saugerties town councilman: Incumbent Mike MacIssac is unopposed in his bid for the final year of a four-year term on the Town Board. He will be on the Democratic and Working Families lines.

Saugerties town justice: Incumbent William Myers, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Christophe­r Kraft. In addition to the Democratic line, Kraft will be on the Working Families and Independen­ce lines. The winner will serve the final three years of a four-year term.

Shandaken propositio­n: “Shall the town of Shandaken increase its annual contributi­on for the operating budget of the Morton Memorial Library by $19,921 to the sum of $44,750 annually?”

Wawarsing town clerk: Jackie Collier and Tess Cooper are vying to fill the final year of a four-year term. Collier will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve and Independen­ce lines. Cooper will be on the Democratic, Green, Working Families and Women’s Equality lines.

Wawarsing town councilman: Incumbent Steve Bradley, a Democrat, is facing off against Republican Paul Tuzzolino to fill the final year of a four-year term on the Town Board. Bradley will be on the Democratic, Conservati­ve and Green party lines. Tuzzolino will be on the Republican and Independen­ce lines.

Woodstock propositio­n: “Shall the Woodstock Public Library District be dissolved and terminated?”

Woodstock town councilman: Incumbent Reginald Earls is running unopposed on the Democratic and Working Families party lines to serve the final year of Jay Wenk’s term on the Town Board.

Woodstock town justice: Incumbent Jason Lesko is running unopposed on the Democratic line to serve the final year of retired Justice Franklyn Engel’s term.

Dutchess County

Family Court: Karen Hagstrom, a Republican, and Jeffrey Martin, a Democrat, are vying for the seat now held by Judge Joan Pagones, who is retiring. Hagstrom will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce, Green, Women’s Equality and Reform lines. Martin will be on the Democratic and Working Families lines. The winner will serve a 10-year term.

Surrogate’s Court: Michael Hayes, a Republican, and Tom Mansfield, a Democrat, are facing off for a seat now held by Judge James Pagones, who is retiring. Hayes will be on the Republican, Conservati­ve, Independen­ce, Reform, Women’s Equality and Green lines. Mansfield will be on the Democratic and Working Families lines. The winner will serve a 10year term.

Northern Dutchess towns

Clinton receiver of taxes: Denise Biery is running unopposed on the Clinton Neighbors Party line to complete an unexpired term.

Pine Plains assessor: Lynda Ball is running unopposed on the Democratic line to complete an unexpired term

Pine Plains town justice: Incumbent Peter Salerno, a Democrat, is facing off against Republican candidate Ibis Guzman to fill the final year of a four-year term previously held by Judge Christi Acker.

Rhinebeck propositio­n: “Shall the annual contributi­on of the town of Rhinebeck for the operating budget of the Starr Library be increased from $324,800 to $344,800 annually?”
