ESSEX JUNCTION, VT. >> Laura Rebecca Cole, 35, daughter of Thomas and Ellen Cole of Essex Junction, Vt., passed away Oct. 31, 2018 unexpectedly of injuries sustained in Washington State where she owned a home. Laura was a gentle, loving, and accomplished young woman; graduating top of her class at Essex Junction High School, then teaching special needs children after obtaining a Masters in Special Education. ‘Lady’ Laura also was the author of 10 fantasy books for young adults derived from her interest in castles, dragons, and medieval times. She was an excellent craftswoman of soap/ leather/art, and she displayed a special love of animals and vulnerable people. Her life and gentle nature is celebrated by her parents, Thomas and Ellen Cole of Essex Junction, Vt.; by her two sisters and their families, (Michelle Connor/ Aaron Goodell with their son Brendan Goodell of Essex, Vt.; and Kimberly and Peter Connors of Bothell, Wash.); her grandfather, Herbert Cole; and uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements will be private for the family. We have arranged with her school for a memorial endowment fund in her name, supporting the Special Needs Program she was setting up at her Pasco, Wash., school district.
