Section 9 honors area standouts

Six area athletes were named to the Section 9 Soccer Coaches Association All-Section boys All-Star team.

Senior goalkeeper Stuart Boller of Mount Academy, New Paltz High senior midfielder Isaac Cherviyot, senior midfielder Brandon Davenport of Saugerties, Ellenville junior sweeper-center midfield Justin Guiliano, Wallkill senior forward John Locicero and Rhinebeck sophomore forward Noah Lortie all made the All-Section team.

Kingston’s Andy Lopez, a senior midfielder, was selected to the Class AA All-Star team.

Along with Locicero, Davenport and Chervioyt, also chosen as Class A All-Stars were Wallkill junior center mid Frankie Palumbo, New Paltz senior defender Ryan Drake, Roosevelt senior center mid Edgar Garcia, Saugerties senior center back Axel Gomez, Wallkill center mid Frankie Palmubo and Red Hook junior midfielder Cian Ryan.

Making the Class B team with

Guiliano and Lortie were Ellenville senior goalie Christian Stinehour, Highland sophomore sweeper-center mid Luigi “Gino” Mazzella, Onteora senior center mid Liam McKeon, senior forward Brennan O’Connell from Rondout Valley, plus

senior goalie Ethan Viator and junior center back Colin Murray of Rhinebeck.

The combined Class C/D All-Stars included Boller, senior back Davis Mason and junior back Everett Button of Rhinebeck, plus Pine Plains senior forward Christian Aldana.

The All-Section and All Class will be introduced Nov. 4 during the Senior Games at Newburgh Free Academy.
