Lydia Haynes (née Patmore), 80, of Stone Ridge
STONE RIDGE >> It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lydia Haynes announces her passing on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at the age of 80.
Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wyatt, Roni (Mark) Usvolk, George (Chester), Jodi, Wesley (Suzanne), Wayne (Heidi), and Leslie (Stephanie). She will also be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Wyatt (Bridgette), Bryce, Lydia, Hailey, Hayden, Hartley, Siebren, and Mary Charlotte, as well as her greatgrandchildren, Bailey and Madison.
Sadly, Lydia was predeceased by her husband, William S. Haynes Jr. (Bill), as well as her eldest son, William S. Haynes III (Billy).
Lydia was a lifelong resident of Ulster County, a loving wife and mother, as well as an entrepreneur. She was known in the community for her cooking and especially her fabulous pies. She began selling her pies at Davenport Farm Stand in Stone Ridge before opening her own bakery, The Good Hearth, with her daughter. She then expanded and purchased The Country Deli in Stone Ridge, later just known as Lydia’s, which is still in the family today.
She was always known for being kind and generous. No one ever left her house hungry. In addition to her own children, you never knew how many others would end up around her dinner table. During the years that she owned Lydia’s, staff came and went, but they always remained
devoted to her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Guests will be welcomed at noon, followed by a service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Arlene Dawber officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Stone Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial and Honor Gifts, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0142. (www. GJMoylanFuneralHome. com)
