RED HOOK >> Sergio Fernandez-Ford, 89, of Red Hook, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1929, in Chile, and was educated in the Jesuit tradition. He was the son of the late Antonio Fernandez and Christina (FordNorman) Fernandez, and one of eight siblings. Sergio married Sonia Perez on Jan. 5, 1957, in Chile, and she survives at home in Red Hook.

Sergio was a communican­t of St. Christophe­r’s Church in Red Hook.

In addition to his loving wife, “Papi” is survived by his two daughters, Sonia (Jim) Crane of Tivoli, N.Y., and Cindy Banchik of Fort Washington, Pa.; his grandchild­ren, Michael (Michelle) Domke, Lloyd Domke, Jamie (Jennifer) Crane, Robbie Crane, and Lauren Crane; his greatgrand­daughters, Ellie, Annabelle, and Olivia Cecilia; along with his extended family and friends.

Papi was a blessing to his family and set an example with his kindness, patience and loving spirit.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13,

2018, at St. Christophe­r’s Church, Red Hook, N.Y. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made in Sergio’s memory to the Shriners

Hospital.
