Film , discussion will explore home care
ROSENDALE, N.Y. >> There will be a screening of the documentary “Care” on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7:15 p.m. at Rosendale Theater, 408 Main St.
“Care” delves deep into the world of home elder care through the eyes of both paid caregivers and their elderly clients. There will also be a discussion about home care in the Hudson Valley for seniors and people with disabilities.
Admission is on a sliding scale between $5 to $10, although no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
The event is sponsored by the New York Caring Majority, Hand in Hand and Statewide Senior Action Council.
Reservation deadline nears for Thanksgiving Luncheon
PHOENICIA, N.Y. >> Phoenicia Elementary School, 11 School Lane, will host its annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m.
The deadline for reservations is Tuesday, Nov. 13. They can be made by calling (845) 688-5580.
Kiwanis plans Senior Citizen Holiday Dinner
TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. >> The annual Senior Citizen Holiday Dinner sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ulster and Kingston will take place Saturday, Dec. 8, at John A. Coleman Catholic High School, 430 Hurley Ave.
There will be seatngs at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Each seating is limited to 300. Those planning to attend are asked to make reservations as soon as possible. Reservations can be made by calling Mary Strasser at (845) 336-5959.
Bus transportation could be available. Arrangements for bus transportation must be made when making reservations.
Senior groups list meeting schedules
LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. >> The Town of Ulster Senior Club will meet Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Town of Ulster Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.
Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 1 p.m.
The annual election of officers for the coming year will take place.
The group’s meetings are a time for friendship, socialization and the sharing of ideas. New members are always welcome. After the meetings, those who wish may stayto play Bingo.
TOWN OF KINGSTON, N.Y.
>> The Sawkill Seniors will meet Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Kingston Town Hall, 906 Sawkill Road.
The guest speaker will be Ulster County historian Geoffrey Miller. He will talk about the Reher Bakery.
Monthly meetings take place on the second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. The meetings begin with a guest speaker and formal format, followed by a raffle, socializing and refreshments. There is also a card game or bingo for those who wish to participate. New members are welcome. PORT EWEN, N.Y. >> Kingston AARP chapter No. 2039 will meet Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. at Esopus Town Hall, 284 Broadway.
There will be a guest speaker from Phone Captions. The next board meet-

The Town of Rosendale Seniors will have a social meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Rosendale Recreation
Center, 1055 state Route 32. Bingo will be played, followed by refreshments. The executive board meeting will meet Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the center, followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m. Reservations are now being taken for Christmas Party on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at noon at Frank Guido’s Little Italy in Kingston.
