SHAN­DAKEN >> John D. Re­lyea Jr., 58, of Old Route 28, Shan­daken, died Wed­nes­day, Dec. 5, 2018, at home.

Born March 11, 1960, in Kingston, he was the son of the late John D. Sr. and Mar­lene T. (Hamil­ton) Re­lyea.

A car­pen­ter by trade, John was em­ployed by M/E Man­u­fac­tur­ing in the As­sem­bly Depart­ment and had been pre­vi­ously em­ployed by Coca-Cola in Or­lando, Fla., as a su­per­vi­sor. He loved his pets, en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing, was a fan of the New York Gi­ants, the New York Mets, and NASCAR rac­ing.

Sur­viv­ing are his brother, Joseph Re­lyea; his sis­ter, Bon­nie Sharot; his nieces and neph­ews, Sab­rina Flo­res, Heather Dur­can, Joseph Re­lyea Jr., and Sean Sharot; his aunt and un­cle, Karen and Den­nis Oul­ton; and his com­pan­ion, Ardith Ricci. Many grand­nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive.

Ar­range­ments are un­der the guid­ance of Joseph V. Leahy Fu­neral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston. The Re­lyea fam­ily will re­ceive friends for a Pe­riod of Re­mem­brance on Sun­day from 2 to 4 p.m.
