Library hosts origami foldfest event
WHAT: Program, “Origami Foldfest — Making Holiday Ornaments”
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Kingston Library, 55 Franklin St., Kingston
DETAILS: The library will hold a special origami foldfest in which participants will make holiday decorations. The program is for children ages 5 and up, teens and adults. Instructor Anita Barbour has been designing origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, for more than 40 years. Spend the morning or stop for a while. Make origami ornaments for yourself or as a gift.

Holiday Social will benefit Nature Museum
WHAT: Holiday Social
WHEN: Sunday, Dec. 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. WHERE: Newburgh Brewing Co., 88 Colden St., Newburgh
DETAILS: The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will host its annual family-friendly Holiday Social. This free fundraising event will feature children’s games, live music and the opportunity for children to visit Santa and have their photo taken. Enjoy food and drinks while the children have fun. All cash tips from the bar will directly benefit the museum’s educational programs and wildlife. Come watch the Young Naturalist Preschoolers perform and enter for a chance to win themed raffle baskets with prizes.
