LAKE KATRINE >> Vija A. Clark, 87, of Lake Katrine, for­merly of High­land Av­enue, Kingston, died Wed­nes­day, Dec. 5, 2018, at Ten Broeck Com­mons in Lake Katrine.

Born June 9, 1931, in Latvia, she was the daugh­ter of the late Arnold and Lisa (Laimins) Klava.

Vija was a 1951 grad­u­ate of Sauger­ties High School. She earned her as­so­ciate’s de­gree in busi­ness and ac­count­ing from Ul­ster County Com­mu­nity Col­lege. Af­ter grad­u­at­ing in 1983, she be­gan work­ing as an ac­count clerk for the col­lege un­til her re­tire­ment. Quilt­ing was her hobby. Vija was a found­ing mem­ber of the Wiltwyck Quilters Guild and was in­ducted into the Catskill Moun­tain Quilters Hall of Fame. She was a long­time mem­ber of the Re­formed Church of the Com­forter. She loved grow­ing and nur­tur­ing orchids and was a mem­ber of the Mid-Hud­son Or­chid So­ci­ety.

Sur­viv­ing are her sons, Arthur Clark and his wife Ox­ana, An­dre Clark and his wife Bettyann, and Jeff Clark and his wife Rose; and her grand­chil­dren, Matthew, Joshua, Daniel, Dmitry, An­drew, Pa­trick, and Me­gan Clark.

Fu­neral ar­range­ments are un­der the guid­ance of Joseph V. Leahy Fu­neral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh. com). Friends will be re­ceived at the fu­neral home on Sun­day from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A fu­neral ser­vice will be held Mon­day at 11 a.m. at the fu­neral home. Burial will be in Wiltwyck Ceme­tery.
