Catskill

• DWI: Violet M. Swagger, 35, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 11:41 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, on state Route 32 in the town and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs. Swagger was released with tickets for Catskill Town Court.

Lloyd

• Drugs/obstructio­n of government­al administra­tion: Ralph T. Polese, 42, of Fishkill, was arrested by state police at Highland at 10:08 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, on U.S. Route 9W and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony; obstructio­n of government­al administra­tion and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeano­rs; and with having a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation. After his arraignmen­t, Polese was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail pending a court appearance.

• DWAI-drugs: Marion Varvaro, 51, of Poughquag, was arrested by state police at Highland at 12:13 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, on state Route 299 and was charged with the criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and driving while ability impaired by drugs, all misdemeano­rs, and with having a controlled substance in a non-original container and possession of marijuana, both violations. Varvaro was released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.

Rhinebeck

• DWAI-drugs: Michele Ayvaliotis, 64, of Rhinebeck, was arrested by state police at Rhinebeck at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at 6596 U.S. Route 9 in the town and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs, both misdemeano­rs; having a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation; and moving from lane unsafely, an infraction. Ayvaliotis was released with tickets for Rhinebeck Town Court.

Town of Ulster

• DWI: Roylando Patterson, 63, of Ulster Park, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 10:36 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, on state Route 28 in the town and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs. Patterson was released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
