The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Greene County Court
• Drugs: Ethan Turner, of Catskill, was sentenced Jan. 8, 2019, to one and one half to three years in state prison for the felonies of tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance. Turner was arrested by Catskill police on Oct. 25, 2018.
• Attempt to promote prison contraband: Donte Thomas, 19, of Coxsackie, was convicted Jan. 8, 2019, of attempting to promote prison contraband, of felony. Additional information was unavailable.
• Promoting prison contraband:
Valerie M. Tibbs, of Troy, was sentenced in mid-December 2018, to five years probation on her conviction on a felony charge of promoting contraband in prison. Tibbs was arrested by state police at Coxsackie on April 14, 2018, and charged with two counts of introducing contraband in prison, along with reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, all felonies.
• Burglary: Todd Raffiani, of Greenville, was convicted of burglary, a felony, in mid-December 2018. Raffiani was arrested on Sept. 28, 2018, shortly after his release from prison after serving a 12-year sentence for an Albany County burglary. He was charged in connection with a daytime
residential burglary spree in Ulster and Greene counties. He will be sentenced at a later date.
• Grand larceny: Michael Peterson, of St. Johnsville, was sentenced on Jan. 8, 2019, to one and one-third to four years in state prison, plus payment of restitution, following his conviction on a felony charge of grand larceny. Peterson was arrested by Catskill police on May 4, 2018.
• Attempted burglary: Barbara E. Kubisek, of Troy, was sentenced in mid-December to a term of 2 to 4 years in state prison following her conviction on a felony charge of attempted burglary. Kubisek was arrested by Catskill police on Aug. 7, 2018, and was initially charged with two felony counts of burglary and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. At the time, police said Kubisek was charged with burglary because she had been banned from entering any Walmart store in the state.
